The concept of home is something intriguing for me. To answer the question ¨Where home is¨ is a challenge itself. Is it where my parents live? Is it where I first lived with my husband? The place where we first became parents? Our very first own house? For me, each place significantly spells home for a time being. But none of it can I truly call Home. In every place I reside, I’m the newest arrival - always new, and slightly on the outside of a friend’s group. ![]() But then it is always a privilege to experience life in various places - a joy to capture pieces of different cultures and adapt them as my own until it is time to move on again. The delightful feeling of getting to know the place and the people for the first time is a celebration of emotions until it ends. ![]() Home is more like a feeling where ever I am – at the moment – with my love ones. Each camera-click speaks of priceless experience which I passionately embrace and take with me every time we move like the photos of my son playing on the cobbled-stone streets of Rome or climbing the Cerro San Cristobal in Santiago, Chile or playing on the hills of Easter Island or dancing on the fine sand of Rio de Janeiro. Above all the marks of my so- called ‘abnormal’ life, my family developed resiliency and adaptability. They easily adapt to wherever and whatever environment they find themselves in. My son can fluently speak and understand more than one language, and is accustomed to different types of cuisine without any complains of tummy ache and my husband can readily fit his life into a backpack. ![]() Still, the concept of home as interpreted by the world is far from normal to us. The answer to the question of ¨where home is¨ will always remain challenging and intriguing. That’s part of life. That’s always part of me. As they say, HOME is where your heart is. Cheers to those who are fortunate enough to have made their home in one place in this planet!
